developing a structural model for predicting academic progress based on executive functions, creative thinking, and academic enthusiasm, with the mediation of the emotional atmosphere of the family
The present research was conducted with the aim of developing a structural model for predicting academic progress based on executive functions, creative thinking, and academic enthusiasm, with the mediation of the emotional atmosphere of the family. The method used in this research is a correlation and structural equation model. The statistical population of the research included all students of the second secondary school in Brojen City in the academic year of 2023-2024, who were selected as the research sample by the multi-stage cluster random sampling method. The data were collected using the family emotional climate questionnaire (hilburn, 1964), Nejati Executive Functions Questionnaire (2013), Schaufeli et al.'s (2002) Academic Enthusiasm, Abedi's Creative Thinking Test (1993), and Pham and Taylor's Academic Performance Scale (1999) and were analyzed using structural equation modeling with the help of SPSS and AMOS software. The results showed that the hypothesized model has a good fit and the variables of emotional atmosphere of the family, executive functions, creative thinking, and academic enthusiasm have a positive and significant correlation with the variable of academic achievement. The results also showed that the variables of executive functions, creative thinking, and academic enthusiasm have a significant relationship with the emotional atmosphere of the family. Therefore, according to the results, as the emotional atmosphere of the family, executive functions, creative thinking, and academic enthusiasm among the students improve, the level of academic progress also improves.
