To assess the relationship between teachers' perception of school atmosphere and their occupational stress, a sample of 143 elementary teachers from among 215 such individuals in Mashhad was selected and asked to fill out two questionnaires on the two constructs above. Data analysis revealed a significant correlation between the two while showing a negative correlation between the perception of organizational structure, responsibility, reward system, and occupational stress. From among constituent elements of the organizational atmosphere, the organizational closeness appeared to be the best predictor of occupational stress.
